Hey everyone,
I'm back in New England on spring break. It feels really great to be here and see people (and puppies!) I've missed. I hope to spend more time in the city of Fitchburg, because I have missed it a lot. But one thing has surprised me: the ice storm is still something that's talked about and the effects are obvious.
Soon after I landed in NH, I saw lots of fallen wood and things, which I had expected. The state of trees was not well when I left in January, and I didn't think it'd be perfect, and coming up to my house, it got a lot more prevalent. I saw more bonfires than I can count driving around, and it seemed to be what a lot of people were talking about around town. I went to Pickity Place in Mason, NH today with my mother, arguably my favorite restaurant in the world, which in order to access, you must drive up a fairly steep hill on a muddy road. Looking over the valley in a spot you can often see Boston from, there was a great haze- that's how many fires were going today.
It just reminded me that North Central Mass/Southern NH still needs support, and though I'm off (trying to be) making a difference in New Orleans, there are differences to be made here, too.
Love,
Alymay

welcome back to MA...where it's cold just as the spring equinox takes place. Nice.
It was eighty degrees when I left New Orleans. Just wanted to point that out:-(
